This collection contains personal and professional papers of Karl With, art history professor (UCLA 1948-1966), curator, museum director and scholar of Far Eastern art. Included are documents from With's early career in Germany, correspondence, numerous lecture notes, drafts of published and unpublished writings, research files, press clippings, photographs, glass negatives, and audio discs. With may have organized these papers in preparation for writing his autobiography, which exists in manuscript form in this collection.
